About the Author and the Work：
This picture book tells the story of a child who discovers that her mother's little desk is, in fact, a
secret garden.
Before retirement, Shu Huai worked as a bank clerk and was also a mother. She set up a small
desk for herself at home ,and picked up her childhood love of drawing—and there, she often
found herself in a state of flow.
From a very young age, Shu Huai's daughter would often come to this little desk, drawing and
writing just as her mother did. In those quiet moments,perhaps their hearts met across time and
space.
