Artwork Description: Xiaoyu has a secret. He has been preparing for a very long time, quietly collecting all kinds of things: oddly shaped twigs, beautiful stones, empty snail shells… No one knows what he is going to do.
This story was inspired by my son - a child who loves to surprise his family. Little things that others might overlook are his most treasured "gems." He would hide his hands behind his back and ask us to guess which hand held the gift, then generously give it to us. All of this makes me want to capture, with all my heart, the kind of love children have for their parents — that unpolished, crystal-clear innocence.
