Linlin's Way Home

This picture book was inspired by the story of Gaogao, a giant panda who passed away in late 2025. I have always loved giant pandas, and Gaogao's life touched me deeply. After being released into the wild, he eventually returned to the Conservation Center—a remarkable journey that inspired me to imagine an adventure of his own.

With Mia's guidance and encouragement, I completed this picture book. As my first picture book, I know there is still room to grow, especially in the illustrations. Even so, I am proud of what I have created and hope readers will enjoy Linlin's journey.

As I wrote the story, I tried to see the world through the eyes of each animal Linlin meets. For animals born in the wild, freedom is the greatest treasure. To them, the forest offers everything they could ever need.

But Linlin is different.

To him, home is not simply a place in the forest. It is the Conservation Center, where his favorite food, his panda friends, and the person who cared for him are waiting.

What is home?

To me, home isn't just where you live.

Home is where the people you love are.
